Hope
Into the night she walks with quite abandon,
No sounds does she make on the moss covered path.
The moon caresses her gently with its soft light,
The stars whisper lovingly in her ears.
Silently she follows the path without knowing where it leads,
Trusting in the night to guide her way.
The path twisting past burning embers of fallen heros,
The silent screams of life ended to soon.
A tear unabashedly rolls down her face,
The smell of dead wood fills her lungs.
Who will morn the fallen heros put here to cleanse the earth?
With footsteps that make no sound she continues on,
Moving towards the unknown.
Warm earthy smells change to a sour burning death,
Mountains of green, and gold, and silica burn before her.
Toxic fumes engulf her,
Tormenting her soul into screams.
With heavy feet weighed down with knowledge she moves on,
Her steps crushing the glass beneath her unsheathed feet.
The moon kisses her tears away with promises of hope,
The stars whisper words of hope.
She continues on the moss covered path,
A trail of blood she leaves behind.
She reaches the spot the stars have spoken of,
She feels the tender touch of the moon.
She looks over the cliff at the world below,
She feels abandon, alone and afraid.
The world she loves is gone forever,
No hope of recovery, no hope of life.
A tender hand touches hers,
A child has followed her path.
A child has morned the cries of the trees,
A child has heard the screams of poisoned soul.
With a promise so quite, yet screamed aloud,
There is hope for her earth, hope for life.
With hope renewed,
Her journey has ended.
